A London care dwelling constructed to deal with social isolation has received a significant structure award
A care dwelling that fosters connections between residents and the broader neighborhood has been topped the UK’s finest new constructing.
A contemporary reimagining of a conventional almshouse, Appleby Blue in Bermondsey, south London, received the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Stirling prize on Thursday night time.
That includes 59 rent-capped flats, a neighborhood centre and rooftop gardens, the property tackles the dual problems with loneliness and an absence of inexpensive housing for aged individuals.
